Leafcrest

FAQ

Answers to common questions about our compostable packaging.

What is bagasse packaging?
Bagasse is the fibrous material left over after sugarcane is pressed for juice. We mould this renewable by-product into strong, compostable food packaging — a natural alternative to plastic and polystyrene.
Are Leafcrest boxes really compostable?
Yes. Our bagasse boxes are 100% compostable and break down naturally in the right conditions, leaving no plastic behind. They are also PFAS-free with no plastic lining.
Are they safe for hot food, microwaves and freezers?
Yes. Our boxes are food-contact safe, hold hot and cold food, and are suitable for microwave reheating and freezer storage.
What sizes do you offer?
We currently offer three hinged clamshell boxes: HB6 (6×6 in), HB9 (7×5 in) and HB10 (9×6 in, deep). Each suits different meal sizes, from burgers to full roast dinners.
How many units are in a box?
Each product is supplied as a box of 250 units.
Do you offer bulk or wholesale pricing?
Yes. We supply food businesses of all sizes. For larger volumes or custom requirements, please request a quote.
